What is EMDR?
EMDR is an evidence-based therapeutic approach developed by Dr. Fancine Shapiro. It allows the individual to process unresolved memories without the need to recall and discuss details about the distressing event(s). It incorporates the use of bi-lateral stimulation while accessing traumatic memories. This process is effective in reducing the level or emotional distress related to these experiences.
EMDR therapy is effective with children and adults alike to address numerous challenges including PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, violence and abuse, among others.
